The Torrent

Writing The Torrent became an unexpected journey for me. What began with a remarkable story told by my sister-in-law about her miraculous rescue from a flash flood grew into something much deeper—a story about faith, family, redemption, and the possibility that some events in our lives are more than mere coincidence. As I brought together the lives of a Civil War veteran and his great-grandson more than a century later, I found myself asking questions I had never seriously considered before. Perhaps there are moments when an unseen hand is guiding us, even when we cannot understand why.
